EDC SME CONFERENCE

What will they teach me in Business School sef that I don’t already know? This was me in 2015 when I thought I already had the hang of business. When your father’s farm is the only one you know, you will think it is the biggest.

Precisely on the 7th of September, 2015, I had a rare chance to attend my very first class in the Entrepreneurship Program of the prestigious Enterprise Development Centre, Pan Atlantic University, popularly called Lagos Business School, Ajah. I realised even before the first class was over, that like John Snow, I knew nothing!

I and my classmates got world-class training in entrepreneurship management and at a next to nothing price, and I even went on to win a grant. Shout out to the CEM 34 Class. More on this later. If there is anything you should take away from this post, it is that you must be deliberate about learning, un-learning, and re-learning. Sometimes, the best person to teach you something is younger than you. Will you willingly learn? This was driven home again and again in my recent visit to Accra for the Facebook Icons of Change Event. Another story I will tell soon.

I’ve got lots of stories from my EDC days and in the coming days, I will start unbundling them. For today, the EDC has put me on a panel for its upcoming EDC SME conference where we will be discussing data-driven methods for growing your business. The theme for this year’s EDC SME Conference is “Growing Business in Challenging times: Exploring New Trends in Entrepreneurship” and it’s going to be holding on the 18th of September, 2019.

As you can see, it is in its 13th annual edition. It’s going to be a melting pot of the creme de la creme of SMEs and those who can give you a leg up in your business! You should not be told about it, you should see and experience it first hand.

It costs N25,000 to attend, but if you really really want to attend and you say you are from me, you get 20% off. Don’t say I didn’t do anything for you guys o!

A very big shout out to all the good people who have helped me along the way. They know themselves.
